Per the EPA, Pyrethrum is an extract or mixture of substances derived from chrysanthemum flowers with insecticidal properties. Pyrethrin is a more refined pyrethrum extract. Pyrethroids are a class of synthetic insecticides that are structurally similar to pyrethrins and act in a similar manner but have been modified to increase their environmental stability and insecticidal properties.
